Fatehgarh Sahib
district is one of
the twenty two
districts in the
state of Punjab in
North-West Republic
of India, with its
headquarters in the
city of Fatehgarh
Sahib. District of
Fatehgarh Sahib came
into existence on 13
April 1992, Baisakhi
Day, deriving its
name 'Fatehgarh
Sahib' from
Sahibzada Fateh
Singh, the youngest
son of 10th Guru
Gobind Singh, who
were bricked alive
by the orders of
Suba Sirhind, Wazir
Khan in 1705, and
the place is now the
site a famous
'Gurudwara Fatehgarh
Sahib'.
